Merlene Miller is a certified addictionologist and relapse prevention specialist and an educator and author with 25 years of experience in the addiction field. She developed the addiction studies curriculum for Park University in Parkville, Missouri, where she taught for 11 years and also at Graceland University in Independence, Missouri, where she was an associate professor for six years. She has developed educational materials for addiction treatment centers throughout the United States and has worked as a consultant doing staff training and professional development for numerous treatment centers. Merlene has worked with her husband, David, in a private treatment center and in a private practice doing family interventions and relapse prevention. She is on the board of directors of the American College of Addictionology and Compulsive Disorders. Merlene Miller has authored or co-authored numerous books including Staying Sober: A Guide to Relapse Prevention and Learning to Live Again: A Guide to Recovery from Chemical Dependence.
